CN6000

Welcome

CambridgeNano (CN) was founded in September 2011 as a Nanotechnology Consultancy that also develops and provides scanning-Probe Microscopes (SPMs) - the key enabling tools at the heart of Nanotechnology. CN is well-placed to give advice in the nanotechnology arena using the skills and experience of the founding partners, Dr Colm Durkan and Dr Nan Wang. They have worked on major projects for both the hi-tech and bio-tech sectors including the use of proteins in bio-devices and development of nano sensors and nano-electronics devices over the last decade, and Dr Durkan has been developing Scanning Probe Microscopes (SPMs) and SPM technology for over twenty years since his undergraduate days. affordable AFM

A variable approach: We offer a broad range of analytical techniques. When used by our experienced analysts, these testing techniques assist in manufacturing support, cleanliness testing, failure analysis, materials characterization and quality control. In our customised lab facility in Cambridge we can image your sample surface with nanometre resolution.  We can image the state of the surface, or surface morphology (for roughness in the range 0.3 nanometers - 3 microns) or the dimensions of structures from around 10 nm to 10 microns.  We can image the electrical and magnetic properties of your sample and if your sample is conductive or magnetic in patches we will obtain a spatial map of the conductivity or magnetic property to check for uniformity and for fault-finding.

We can also help you to test your ideas, work with you to do this or advise you on the best way to proceed. We have experience that should cut short development time, save money and extend ideas. Above all we are practical in our approach. Our objective is to show you the possibilities available through using us as an extra skill-set, a contributory asset in your development team.

Adding value to your company: We see Nanotechnology at the beginning of a long and creative route into the future and our objective is to help you obtain the strongest possible advantage from using our services.  If necessary, we will design and deliver courses for your scientists, test equipment and samples provided by you, arrange work experience with our microscopes and hire you our equipment, so that you can trial it before you decide to commit funds and purchase equipment. We respect the need for a strict Non-disclosure rule both when it comes to research and the testing of materials and ideas.

Project planning:   Before we begin any work we will build a detailed specification for the proposed  project and we will write detailed progress reports to an agreed timetable.
